Billie Jean (Cassell) Abell, 85, beloved mother, teacher, elder, and friend went to be with her heavenly father on February 17, 2018.

She was born on May 4, 1932 in Pike county, Kentucky, the first born daughter of William and Della (Stafford) Cassell. A 'coal miner's daughter' she attended high school in Dublin, Georgia but eventually graduated from Williamson High School in Williamson, WVa. in 1951.

She joined the newly created 'Womens Air Force' (WAF) shortly after graduation and served her county during the Korean War.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Howard Abell in 1995,; sisters Irene Howard (2001) and Rita Meadows (1996).

Survivors include her children John, Kevin, Bill, Charles, and Cindy; a brother William Cassell, Jr of Cleveland, Ohio; sister Vonda Russell of Columbia,Tennessee; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She will also be deeply missed by all her friends at Royal Palm Christian Church, 9600 Royal Palm Blvd., Coral Springs, FL. where a celebration of life is scheduled for 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 15, given with love by her sons John, Kevin, Bill, Charles, and daughter Cindy.

She will be interred with her husband in Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, Virginia.
