Esther Dietrich Ostermiller Schwindt, 104 of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at her son’s home.
Her memorial services will be held at the Gering Memorial Chapel at 1 PM Thursday, May 17. Burial will follow at the Bayard Cemetery. A reception after at Faith United Church in Bayard.
Esther was born June 9, 1913 in Lincoln, NE to Henry Dietrich and Mary Elizabeth Bohl. When she was one year old the family moved to a farm south of Gering where she lived until Esther met and married Harry Ostermiller in 1936.
Harry and Esther farmed in Bayard until they retired in 1976 and moved to Gering. A few years after Harry passed Esther married Carl Schwindt.
Esther is preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, two husbands plus numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her son Dennis Ostermiller, daughter Paula Bell, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by Carl’s children Ronald Schwindt and Kathleen Stahla, plus numerous descendants of the Schwindt family.
