He was born in Marietta, OH a son of the late Rolland B. and Winifred P. (Styer) Fritsche.
He was a home builder and owned and operated rental properties. He also worked for Union Carbide for eleven years. He was a member of Belpre Church of Christ and a Township Trustee for twenty years. He was a United Navy veteran, serving from 1954-1958 on the USS Bonhomme Richard and the USS Yorktown.
He is survived by his wife of forty-four years Darlene K. Fritsche; two daughters Cheryl Lee of Somerset, OH and Cinda Carson (Gary) of Belpre; four sons Frederick Fritsche, Jr. (Trena) of Thornville, OH, Richard A. Fritsche of Naples, FL, Deron Fritsche (Jody) of Somerset, OH, and David Fritsche of Kirtland, OH; ten grandchildren Bill, Aaron, Brandon, Katie, Derrick, Samantha, Nathaniel, Sean, Ryan, and Derrick; nine great grandchildren; a brother Dean Fritsche (Joyce) of Marietta, OH; and a sister Rebecca Faye Fritsche of Naples.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Gail "Ray" Fritsche.
Services will be Thursday 11:00 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Evangelist Brian Grubbs officiating.
Burial will be at Veto Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 15.
