Brierton, formerly associated with the firm of Tuttle & Brierton, hardware and store dealers, and recently engaged in the plumbing and heating business, died at his home in Amboy Friday morning after an illness of tuberculosis extending over a period of several months. He was the son of William S. and Mary E. Brierton, old and respected citizens of Dixon, and was born in Dixon June 11, 1871.
Mr. Brierton went to Amboy to engage in business about 29 years ago and was married to Miss Maude Howard of that city. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, a brother, Joseph Brierton of Amboy, and many near relatives and close friends in Dixon. He was a little past 45 years of age and had many warm friends in this vicinity.-
Funeral services will be held at the home on Jones street, Amboy, Sunday, at 2:30 o'clock, with Masonic services at the grave in Prairie Repose cemetery, where interment will be made."
