John Berry Briggs, grandson of J.M. DeMent and Mary Applegate DeMent 88, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, due to heart and kidney failure. Funeral: 3 p.m. Friday in Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Friday in Chapel of Chimes. "JB," an avid Razorback fan, was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Hot Springs, Ark.,born to John and daughter of James Monroe and Mary Applegate DeMent, Allie Dement Briggs.
