He served in the United States Army during World War 2 in the Philippines. He was a stock farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by 1 son: James Ray Cooper and wife Sherry of San Angelo. 1 daughter: Brenda Chambliss and husband Richard of Winters. 1 step-son: Ronnie Bennett of Denard, Arkansas. 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Cooper and 1 son, Larry Wayne Cooper.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 P.M. Friday February 23, 2018 at Winters Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 24, 2018 at North Main Church of Christ.
Burial will follow at Crews Cemetery.
