Mary's parents were, James Anderson [born: 06 Feb 1810 and died: 17 Nov 1872] and Eleanor Simpson [born: 15 May 1814 and died: 24 Mar 1873]. The Anderson's were married in 1831, well before crossing. They filed for a Donation Land Claim in the Oregon City Territorial Land Office, Volume 1, Claim 267. They settled down to farm on their claim in Marion County, Oregon
