Quentis Ates Bruce, 77, of Georgetown, LA, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Friday, August 30, 1940 in Urania, LA to the late Arthur Willam Ates, Sr. and Iva Jameson Ates.

Mrs. Bruce is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Eugene "Bud" Bruce; one brother, A. W. Ates, Jr.; 2 sisters, Arthur Mae Ates Stamper and Lillie Mae Ates; and one great grandson Isaak John Barnard.

She is survived by daughter, Frances Jean Bruce Johnson and husband Stacy of Winnfield, LA; one son, Keith Bruce of Georgetown, LA; daughter, LaDonna Jo Bruce Smith and husband Macon Smith of Elizabeth City, NC; one brother, Quentin Ates and wife Bobbie Jean of Georgetown, LA; Grandchildren, Joshua Bruce of Georgetown, LA, Joseph Bruce and wife Sherri of Kankakee, IL, Johnathan Bruce of Livingston, TX, Lance Lincecum and wife Corrie of Monroe, LA, and Tonya Barnard and husband John of Pollock, LA; step grandchildren, Morgan and Madeline Johnson of Winnfield, LA, Kimberly Brown, Karnescha Smith, and Eliza Brown; great grandchildren, Selah, Sophia, Edyn, and Ayla Quentis Bruce, Karen and Kayden Bruce, Layne and Emilee Lincecum, and Erik Barnard; 2 special nieces, Pam Bruce and Amanda Fife Sinclair; 2 special great granddaughters, Hannah and Gracie Sinclair.

Mrs. Bruce loved hunting, fishing, garage sales, and watching Erik play ball.

The family will receive friends at Georgetown Baptist Church on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with services on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Reverends Joe Bruce and Tommy Hollis officiating.

Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Joshua Bruce, Joseph Bruce, Lance Lincecum, Tonya Lincecum Barnard, John Barnard, and Sherri Bruce. Honorary pallbearers will be Corrie Lincecum, Johnathan Bruce, and Larry Lee.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Beulah Cemetery Fund.
