Ervin R. Nitschke, 70, Valley City, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo.
Mr. Nitschke was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Jud, N.D. In 1942, he moved with his family to Valley City, where he graduated from high school in 1953. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He then returned to Valley City, where he worked for the North Dakota State Highway Department. On June 5, 1964, he married Eileen Bosch. She died in 1977. On March 20, 1993, he married Lorraine Ley. He retired from the highway department in 1995.
Visitation: Tuesday from 1 to 7, with a prayer service at 7, in Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City, and Wednesday from 1 to 2 in Faith Lutheran Church, Valley City.
Funeral: Wednesday at 2 in the church.
Burial: Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City.
