DAVENPORT - Lorraine E. Thompson, 83, of Davenport, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport. Funeral services will be Friday, December 17, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in Blue Grass Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home. Online condolences may be left at www.therungemortuary.com.
Lorraine was born March 14, 1927, in Dubuque, Iowa, one of eight children born to Raymond and Marie (Hahn) Manahl. She was formerly married to Joseph A. Bush of Dubuque, Iowa (June 20, 1944 in Maquoketa, IA). She married Gordon Thompson in October 1961 in Davenport. He preceded her in death.
Lorraine had worked at various places in the Quad Cities, including Farmall and Nichols Homeshield. She also had worked for Heinz Company in Muscatine, where she retired from. Lorraine enjoyed doing yard work and gardening.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Terry (Cheryl) Bush, Davenport, and Mary (Don) Hatfield, Blue Grass; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her parents and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Lorraine's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Good Samaritan Home for the loving and many kindnesses shown to her and her family during her stay there.
