John Bingaman, of Middleburg
John Franklin Bingaman, 88, of Middleburg, died Sunday at 8:55 p.m. in Community Hospital, Sunbury. He was admitted to the hospital Friday following a lingering illness of three and a half years duration.
Mr. Bingaman was born March 21, 1872 at Middleburg R. D. He was the son of the late Samuel and Susan Bubb Bingaman. He was an optical salesman most of his life and did some farming during the early part of his life. He was a member of Trinity E. U. B.Church, Middleburg.
He was married to Flora Ritter on March 15, 1886 in Middleburg. His wife preceded him in death, also a daughter.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Celesta Romig of Middleburg and Mrs. Verdilla Wagner of Beaver Springs: three sons, Cloyd Bingaman, of Milton, R. D Carl Bingaman of Sunbury; and Carson Bingaman, of Kreamer: a brother Amnon Bingaman of Hummel's Wharf; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-grand grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at Hassinger's funeral home, Middleburg. Rev. Joseph F. Ritter, his pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg. Viewing will be held Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Winey, Emory Bowersox, Randall, Hartman and James Heintzelman.
