Frank E. Palmer, 74, died at 5:30 o'clock Thursday evening at his home in Rulo. Mr. Palmer had been in failing health for 11 years and confined to his bed for 18 weeks. Death was caused by a heart condition and complications.

Mr. Palmer was born November 11, 1875 at Floyd, IA. At the age of 8, he moved to Rulo with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Palmer, and since had lived in the vicinity of Rulo or in Rulo. He farmed until 1926 when he moved to Rulo.

August 22, 1896, Mr. Palmer was married to Miss Mary Elizabeth Evans at Rulo. To this union, nine children were born. Three of the children preceded the father in death, dying when they were small.

Besides his widow, Mr. Palmer is survived by three sons, Fred Palmer, Carl Palmer and Walter Palmer, all of Rulo , and three daughters, Mrs. Anthony Dannecker and Mrs. Charles Vogele, both of Rulo, and Mrs. Ernest Bentley, Barada. There are 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The body of Mr. Palmer is at the Chaney-Hodgens funeral home and at 2 o'clock Sunday will be taken to the Methodist church at Rulo to lie in state until the funeral hour at 3 o'clock. Rev. Harold M. Bryant of Falls City will conduct the funeral. Burial will be in the Rulo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Larry Vogele, Bud Oldfield, Ray Baudendistel, Fred Morehouse, Emil Kreutzer and Willard Lewis.

Assisting with the flowers will be: Edith Oldfield, Helen Baudendistel, Clara Kreutzer, Pauline Oldfield, Leona Oldfield and Jennie Pflaum.
