Pearl F. SHORE, 87, a resident of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, since November 1999, formerly of Shirleysburg, RD. 1, died at 5:40 pm. Monday, July 2, 2001, at the retirement center. She had been in failing health. Born July 27, 1913, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Scott and Irma (Hendershot) Bard, She married Ivan F. "Toad" Shore Oct. 24, 1929, in Cumberland. Md. He preceded her in death July 15, 1975. Surviving are the following children: Blair C. Shore, Baltimore, Md.; Jesse S. Shore, Kistler, Mount Union: Denver L. Shore, Buena Vista, Va.; Raymond J. Shore, Glen Burnie, Md.; Glenn W. Shore, Shirleysburg, RD. 1; Mrs. Samuel (Patricia P.) Grove, Mount Union, RD. 2; Mrs. Roy N. (Josephine M.) Yoder, McVeytown, RD. 1; and
Joseph H. Shore, Newton Hamilton. There are 33 grandchildren and a large number of great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter; a brother, Joe Bard; and two sisters, Ruth Coons and Cora Arthur. Mrs. Shore was a member of the Otelia Mennonite Church, Mount Union. RD. 1. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but at one time had worked for L. Greif Brothers Manufacturing in Mount Union. She enjoyed sewing and flowers. Funeral services were held July 5, at the Otelia Mennonite Church. Mount Union, RD. 1, with the Rev. Christopher Heinlein officiating. Interment was made in the Otelia Mennonite Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
