Naomi Ruth Hittenmark Miller, age 86, of Joplin, passed away at 1:10 PM, Friday, June 17, 2008, at National Healthcare Center, following a lengthy illness.

Naomi was born November 28, 1921 in Riverton, KS, the daughter of the late Koy and Vesta Beaty. She graduated from Riverton High School a member of the class of 1940, and she attended John Brown University. She worked many years as a bookkeeper and secretary. She spent seven years in Washington D.D. working for the Office of Alien Property at the White House. She returned to Joplin in 1960 where she worked for Tri-State Physicians Supply as a bookkeeper. She was a Christian. She was a member of the Surviving Spouses, the Joplin Association of the Blind, and the VFW.

She married Gordon Hittenmark and he preceded her in death in 1972. She then married Terry Miller and he preceded her in death in 1997.

She is survived by two brothers, Cooper Beaty, Broken Arrow, OK and Sam Beaty, Bay Cliff, TX; two sisters, Dorothy Cox, Joplin, and June Phillips, Oklahoma City, OK; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frances and Henry Beaty.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel. Burial will be in Osborne Cemetery.

Arrancements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel.
