Daughter of Leonard W. and Mary Lois Clubb Gray. She grew up in Hickeytown and Lamar.
Margaret graduated from Lamar High School. After graduation, she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC. She was also employed with various other government agencies, such as the Wichita Police Department and the Arkansas Health Department. In the late 70's, she was owner/operator of Barney's Book Shop in Russellville, which she named after her cat. Margaret worked for the USDA Forest Service, from which she retired. She maintained the books and home office for the family business for almost 40 years.
Throughout her life, she was known for her meticulous filing and attention to detail. She was also known for her love and compassion for animals, especially of cats.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Gray and Mary Aust; and her brother, Emmett Eual Gray.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Brice M. Freeman; her two children, and her 2 brothers.
The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Shinn Chapel with Pastor Gary Harvey officiating with burial in Knoxville Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00-6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
