Born January 15, 1927, in Aleppo, he was a son of the late Perry and Margaret Ullom Riffle.
Hal was a 1944 graduate of Aleppo High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 for 30 years, until he retired in 1988.
Hal was a member of Gospel Baptist Church, where he liked to help out.
He would drive the bus to pick up church members and bring them to church.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly Jean Powell of Michigan; son Carl (Charlene) Riffle, of Northhampton; four stepsons, Mike Powell of Michigan, Clifford Powell, Matt Powell and Brad Powell; grandson Brian Scott (Virginia) Riffle of Ivor, Va.; great-grandson Zachary Scott Riffle of Leola; and two brothers, David (Susan) Riffle of Punxsutawney and Donald (Bonnie) Riffle of Aleppo.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two wives, Bernice M. Riffle and Madeline Bertha (Moose) Riffle, and brother Bobby Riffle.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 4, in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC, 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, funeral service following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Lanny Hewitt officiating.
Burial will follow at Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo.
