MUIR-Ivan Babcock, 81, of 6876 Staley Road, Lyons, died Friday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 28, 1908, in Crystal he was the son of Charles And Ella Reinhardt Babcock. He attended Lyons High School.

He was married to Marie Burger in 1932; she died in 1984.

He was married to Alice Mosier in1986, she survives.

He was the owner & operator of Babcock dairy farm, was an employee of Ionia Creamery, and served as field representative for several milk companies.He also served as Lyons township treasurer for 25 years and was a Farm Bureau member.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Charles of Lyons; two grandsons and a sister, Ruby (Delbert) Lemke of Ionia.

A brother and twos sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a. from the First Christian Church of Muir, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating.

Burial will be in Muir Cemetery.

The family will be at Hull Memorial Chapel, Muir, Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 p.m.

A memorial has been established for Muir first Christian Church, in care of the funeral chapel.
