ANNIE MAE NEWMAN LINZAY

Funeral services for Annie Mae Gremillion Newman Linzay will be at 11:30 am Saturday, March 11, 2006 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. David Braquet officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery under direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Annie Mae Gremillion Newman Linzay, born November 19, 1914, passed away on March 5, 2006 in Alexandria, Lousiana. She was a native of Bunkie, Louisiana, and lived most of her life in Rapides Parish. She is survived by two sons, Ralph S. Newman, Jr.of Pinehurst, North Carolina, and James I. Newman of Alexandria, Louisiana, and one daughter, Janet Newman Myers of Houma, Louisiana. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Paul Newman, Jonathan Newman, Sarah Myers Breaux, Christy Myers LeBlanc, Max Bordelon, Jill B. Munir, and Craig Bordelon, and ten great-grandchildren, Olivia Newman, Leigh Evalyn LeBlanc, Gus LeBlanc, Adam Bordelon, Joshua Bordelon, Kendra Bordelon, Noah Bordelon, Dalya Munir, Nina Munir, and Anna Bordelon.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph S. Newman, Sr., her second husband Roy Linzay, her daughter, Gayle Newman, her parents, Preston and Inez Scallan Gremillion, two sisters, Anna G. Guillot and Maud G. Guillot, and three brothers, Leopold Gremillion, Murphy Gremillion, and Charles Gremillion.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Bunkie, the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America. She was a retired secretary from LSUA . She devoted over a half century to the care of her son, Jimmy.

Visitation will be in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Bunkie from 10:00 a.m until 11:15 a.m. Saturday, with services following. In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to the Alzheimer?s Foundation - 322 Eighth Ave. - 6th Floor - New York, NY 10001 or alzfdn.org; March of Dimes- 1275 Mamaroneck Ave. - Attention: DRFR - White Plains, NY 10605 or St. Anthony of Padua Church - P.O.
