Julian Dell Bush, aged 79, died Monday, April 30, 2018 of complications due to cancer. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Bush on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 12 PM at First Baptist Church of Albany. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 to 12 prior to the service.
Mr. Bush was a long- time resident of Albany, graduating from Albany High School in 1957. He went to the University of Alabama and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and finance.
Upon returning to Albany in 1962, Mr. Bush became the owner and president of AAA Concrete Products Corporation, where he worked for the last 55 years. Mr. Bush was also a prominent real estate developer in Dougherty and Lee Counties, managing the construction, sale, and rental of many homes for Albany citizens. Mr. Bush was one of the seven partners who purchased Oakland Planation in Lee County in 2003, and he was instrumental in the ongoing development of the property as a mixed-use residential and commercial project. Mr. Bush was highly respected in the septic tank design and installation business and was widely regarded as the most knowledgeable man in Southwest Georgia in the septic tank business.
Mr. Bush is remembered for his years of civic duty and service to the Albany community over the last 50 years. He served on the Board of Directors for Security Bank for almost 20 years, and he was a member of the boards of the YMC and the Riverquarium.
Mr. Bush was a leader in the First Baptist Church of Albany, where he was a member for over 50 years and deacon of Christian service off and on for 40 years. Mr. Bush was an avid fisherman and knew his way around all the local creeks, and his expertise in gardening was well-known. On May 12 Mr. Bush would have celebrated 55 years of marriage. Mr. Bush will be remembered for his kindness, his work ethic, his integrity, his sense of humor, and his love for his family and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Building Fund at the First Baptist Church of Albany.
