Hainesville – Leo D. Ellett, a former Sandyston Township committeeman and retired farmer, died Tuesday morning at his home on the Layton-Dingman’s road after a long illness. Born in Sandyston Township 78 years ago, he had lived here all his life.
Mr. Ellett had served on the township committee for nine years, and was chairman for three years. He was a member of the Sandyston Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Ellett; a son, Alfred, of Sandyston Township; three daughters, Mrs. Frank DeLucca, of Newton; Mrs. Allen Jager, of Sandyston, and Mrs. Clinton Jager, of Hainesville, and a sister, Mrs. Ross Major, of Layton. He also leaves four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be conducted today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home, Main Street, Branchville, by the Rev. Weldon Crowley, pastor of the Sandyston Methodist Church. Interment will be in Bevans Cemetery.
