Salvatore "Sal" Robert Mallozzi,
May 20, 1930 - April 27, 2018
on Friday, April 27, 2018, age 87, of Franklin Park, formerly of Erie, native of Ambler, PA. Beloved husband of Carol Ann (Sohl) Mallozzi whom he married on November 4, 1961.
Loving father of Kathleen A. (David) Hastings, Ed. D, of Gainesville, FL, Barbara A. Mallozzi of Sewickley, Ann (Kenn) Fetterman of Franklin Park, and the late Richard Michael Mallozzi whom died in infancy, and Robert Salvatore Mallozzi, PhD whom passed in November, 2000; grandfather of Abigail Kathleen Hastings; preceded in death by his siblings Ann Romano, Frank Mallozzi, Modesta "Babe" Marincola, and Dominic Mallozzi.
Friends received on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Schellhaas & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1600 Stone Mansion Drive, Sewickley, PA 15143 (Franklin Park/Wexford). Additional visitation will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7100 W. Ridge Road, Fairview, PA 16415, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10:00am-11:00am, with a Mass of Christian Burial being held immediately following visitation at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Sal was very strong in his faith and the type of guy if you met him once you loved him. He was a lover of golf, local sports fan, and playing cards. He enjoyed going to the casino, and reminiscing with his old Italian buddies when he had the chance. Sal was the epitome of an Italian father and baker, famous for his pizzelle and said his "secret" for the perfect pizzelle was a Hail Mary for each press. His granddaughter Abigail was his pride and joy.
