James Edward "Jim" Browne was born on June 23, 1924 in Lewisburg, Tennessee, the second of six children of Cecil Coleman Brown Sr (1898-1997) and Grace Helen (Collier) Brown (1900-1988). {It is noted that his obituary DID list his surname as Browne and the surname of his parents as Brown.}

He attended the University of Tennessee and Arkansas Agriculture & Mechanical College studying agriculture, then returned to his father's home place to utilize modern methods of farming, but was encouraged to do so on his own farm.

Jim was the type who rolled with the punches, so he moved to Florida, where he his love for animals led to his working in a veterinary clinic, running a pet store and owning Brown K-9 Grooming Salon.

He was married in 1983 as the 2nd husband of his high school sweetheart Lorene (Stockett) (Connor) Browne (1926-2006).

He was known as a great storyteller and was quick to help others. He was also active in the United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. He found peace in yard work and creating water features.

Living in Winter Park, Florida, Jim was 93 years old when he passed away peacefully on March 25, 2018.

Preceded in death by his wife, son-in-law Leo Hidalgo, married sisters Elizabeth Mai (Brown) Carter (1921-2011) and Sara Josephine (Brown) Goodman (ca 1936- ) and by brothers Marshall "Allen" Browne Sr (1929-2008) and Cecil Coleman Browne Jr (1938-2005). Survivors included a married daughter in Orlando FL, a son in Fountain Hills AZ, a Daggett brother in Louisville KY and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Graveside Services were held in Williamson Memorial Gardens in Franklin.
