J. M. Arledge, 62, residing on the Dixie-Overland highway a short distance west of the West Monroe city limits, died at his home after a short illness, early Tuesday morning.

The funeral will be held at the residence, Wednesday at 10 a.m., and interment will be made in Hasley cemetery. Rev. C. K. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church of West Monroe, will officiate.

Pallbearers will be H. H. Simms, F. C. Childers, C. E. Wadley, Ben Averett, Eli May and Robert Hines.

Mr. Arledge was employed as carpenter and also operated a small farm. He is survived by his wife; two sons and one daughter, J. A. Arledge, Alvin Arledge and Miss Willie Arledge, all of West Monroe; and two brothers, C. C. Arledge, Baton Rouge; and H. Arledge, Epps.
