Fay Etta Combs Lemon, 87, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, September 5, 2017 at her daughters residence after an extended illness. She was born in Lake City on December 30, 1929 to the late Claude Hubert and Edith Kinard Combs. She was a Columbia High School, class of 1948 graduate, where she lettered in women's basketball and was a majorette. She traveled and lived in the states of California, Washington, Georgia, Virginia, Louisiana and Japan with her husband while he served in the US Army. She also worked for the Southern Bell Company, Pacific Bell, Ford Motor Company and Crowley Maritime, from which she retired from. In her spare time, she enjoyed line dancing, square dancing and sewing. She was a very good seamstress and loved quilting and crafting. She belonged to the Home Demonstration Club, was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and belonged to the Bethel United Methodist Women's group. She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Wright; her son, Rodney Claude Hunter; her sister, Violet Louise Harrison and her grandson, Ian Howard.
She is survived by her sons; Dale Edwin Hunter (Debbie) of Jacksonville and Todd Alan Hunter of Lake City; daughters; Linda Darlene Bailey (Steven) of Lapine, Oregon and Tammy Lynne Liberty (Gary) of Lake City. Grandchildren; Shey Busier, Gary Liberty, Jr. (Rachel), Lisa Liberty, Jeff Hunter, Jake Hunter (Christy) and Todd Hunter, Jr; great-grandchildren; Riley Liberty, Seth Liberty, Olivia Hunter, very-special great-granddaughter, Madison Lipscomb, Skylor Komlzer, Ridge Lanigan, Trevor Holaday, Sahalie Busier and Sierra Busier along with many extended family members and friends also survive.
