The funeral of Joseph Otto Alexander, 37, of 906 Montgomery street in West Monroe, who was drowned in Wall's lake Friday, will be held at the residence, Monday at 4 o'clock p.m. with the Mulhearn Funeral Home in charge. Interment will be in Hasley cemetery. Rev. C. E. Autrey, pastor of the First Baptist church, West Monroe, will officiate.

Mr. Alexander was rowing across the lake Friday at 5:45 p.m. when the boat is believed to have been struck by lightning, causing it to capsize. He endeavored to swim ashore but sank in eight feet of water. His body was recovered at 7:30 p.m.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Joseph Otto Alexander, Jr.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Alexander, West Monroe; seven brothers, Murry, Jack, Elmer, Morris, Claude and Arvell, Monroe, and James Alexander in an air school in Baltimore, Md.; and two sisters, Mrs. A. W. McNaughton and Mrs. H. A. Hall, West Monroe.

Pallbearers will be Eli Portier, Everett Black, J. B. McGuffy, Earl Bennett, J. E. Darden and John Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be all friends of the family.
