RaNae Gunnell Crandall was born on March 11, 1948, in Logan, Utah. She passed away peacefully in her home on April 27, 2018, following a short battle with a rare blood condition.

RaNae was the third of six children. She was raised in a loving family in North Logan, Utah. When she was 14 years old, they moved to Santa Ana, California, where she graduated from high school. After attending Ricks College she transferred to Idaho State University where she graduated from the dental hygiene program. While at ISU she met and fell in love with Gene Crandall, who accentuated her fun-loving personality. They were married and sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on August 5, 1970. They settled in Pocatello, Idaho, and made it their home where they raised their seven children.

After retiring, RaNae and Gene served an LDS mission to the Marshall Islands from April 2008 - Oct 2009, later served in the Pocatello, Idaho mission and were Idaho Falls Temple workers until her death.

RaNae worked as a dental hygienist and an elementary school reading aide for several years, opened and ran The Quilt Shop in Pocatello, held multiple church callings (her favorite was ward choir director), conducted temple assignments, and happily served wherever she was needed. She loved quilting, sewing, needle work, crocheting, baking delicious food, hosting people in their home, helping others, making things for and with her grandchildren, gathering the family together often, making friends, and serving.

RaNae had a talent and passion for learning new things and a gift of loving people unconditionally. She had a fun sense of humor and was very welcoming and accepting of others, such that those who knew her felt at home in her presence. She lived by the motto: people are more important than things. She taught her children and grandchildren to trust the Lord and encouraged them to live so there are no empty chairs in heaven. She is loved by so many. Her influence was wide spread. She will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by her parents, Don and Alberta Gunnell; a brother, Alan; and daughter, Kathryn.

Survived by her husband, Nels Eugene Crandall; children, Alan (Michelle) Crandall, Carrie (Deray) Young, Chris (Laurie) Crandall, Kevin (Karami) Crandall, Stephanie (TJ) Harman, JaNiel (Preston) Parker, Laura (Mark) Jensen; siblings, Larry (Judy) Gunnell, Ardyth (Jim) Cannon, Ron (Kaye) Gunnell, Ronda Gunnell Rich; and 40 grandchildren.
