He was born October 2, 1932 at Portersville, WV a son of the late James Madison and Bessie Pelfrey Baker.
He was a Chrisitan man, a family man, and a good man.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Jean Baker; 3 children, William Michael Baker, Donna Jo Baker Angus, and Emma Louis Baker Lee; Granddaughter Brandie Renee Baker, and Great-Grandson Dustin Dean Baker.
He is survived by his 5 children, Carl Jennings Baker, Jr., James Dean Baker, Patricia Ann Baker Barr, Betty Jean Baker Hewitt, and Harold Glen Baker; Brother Willard Baker. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice of West Virginia and caretakers Brittany, Stephanie, and Melissa for the care they gave Carl in his final days.
Funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, April 28th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Ernie Haynes officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service a reception will be held at the Parsons-Vail Family Center inside the funeral home.
