Though the obituary states that she was born to Rip and Glady's it is known by family that she was adopted as an infant, and in fact the brother of Glady's, Walter, also adopted two children as infants. Unfortunately it is not known at this time if it was directly from a family or from an orphanage. More research needs to be followed up.

Funeral services for Jan Hardin Dressell, 75, of Palestine will be at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with Father Zacharis Kunnakkattuthara officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park.

She was born to R.W. "Rip" Hardin and Gladys Purvis Hardin. Mrs. Dressell earned her degree in business from TCU. She taught school for several years before moving to Palestine to help run the family business, Hardin Oil Company. Her father started the business in 1945.

She enjoyed watching sports on TV. She deeply loved her family and friends and was extremely proud of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Dressell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Tony Dressell in 2013. She is survived by a daughter, Mendy Wright and husband Lyle; sons Tony W. Dressell and wife Liz and Robert Dressell and wife Christy; grandchildren, Garrett, Brooke, Draydon, Landon, Brendan, Abigail and William.
