Thomas Gerry was my 6th Great Grandfather. He is the father of the Elbridge Thomas Gerry, signer of the US Declaration of Independence and 5th Vice President of the United States.
"Thomas Gerry was born at Newton Abbot Devonshire England March 15 1702 and died in Marble head whither he came when a young man he was captain of a trading vessel he married Elizabeth Greenleaf daughter of Russell and Rebecca Elbridge Greenleaf. Elbridge was named for his mother's family. The grandfather of Elbridge was Daniel Gerry of Newton Abbot."
