He was a proud member of the National Guard and owner of a tool & die company, Burton H. Curley & Sons, for many years. Burt enjoyed fishing and warm weather which led to numerous vacations and eventually building a home in Ocala, Fla. where he lived for 15 years before returning to his home town of Peabody.
Burt is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joann (Wallis) Curley, his daughters, Joann and her husband, William Macchi; Cynthia and her husband, Joseph Mello; and his youngest son, Keith Curley, all of Peabody. He was predeceased by his eldest son, Burton Jr.
A loving grandfather, Burt leaves behind nine grandchildren, Beth Meehan, Brenda Zeuli, Gina Hayes, Tara Cahill, Matthew Mello, Melissa Reid, Danielle Macchi, Daniel Mello and Arielle Selvo; 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mason, Raven, Brayden, Lincoln, Jovee, William, Anthony, Bentley, Alexis and his little buddy, Cayden.
A private service was held at Puritan Lawn Cemetery.
