Marie was born January 1, 1920 in Lindsay to Paul and Susie (Neu) Arendt. She was a lifelong resident of Cooke County with a brief time living in Arizona. Marie was a member of various clubs and charities. She enjoyed sewing and made several award winning quilts. She also enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. She loved cooking for her family and friends and the various clubs. After retirement, Marie enjoyed traveling with her siblings and friends. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Saint Mary’s Church and Saint Peter’s Church.
Marie is survived by her husband, Clarence Metzler of Lindsay, daughters: Monica and husband Gerald Hess of Muenster, Debbie and husband, Mike Marino of Denton, Rita and husband, Robert Russell of Muenster; son, Milton and wife, Rebecca Fette of Corinth; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and sisters: Lou Voth of Muenster and Joanie Bauer of LaFeria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmet Fette in 1962, husband Herbie Herr in 1998; sisters: Elizabeth Hoberer, Ann Herr, Ella Zimmer, Flo Walterscheid; brothers: Ernest, Ulrich, Andy, Aloys, Paul, Arthur, Johnny, and Patrick Arendt and two infant grandchildren: Nicholas and Yolanda Hess.
