George Balmos, 93, was born in Salineville, Ohio on November 25, 1924. He was the only boy with three sisters. At the age of 17 after the bombing of Pearl Harbor George joined the Navy where he served for 4 years. While in the Navy George met a friend who had a cousin who lived in Kansas City. George and Darlene began writing letters. When George got out of the Navy he went to Kansas City where he got a job at Ralson Purina. He also married Darlene Carlile on May 29, 1948. Their family lived in Raytown for many years before moving to Lee’s Summit. George loved to play golf and going fishing. George was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Lake Winnebago Lions Club. George is survived by his wife Darlene; Daughter, Penny (Bob); Son, Paul (Trish). Grandchildren: Robyn (Gabe) and Alan (Kathleen) Great-Grandchildren: Maggie, Amelia, Jonah, Suzie
