He was married to Clara Prak on Nov. 6, 1948. God, country and family meant the most to Hank. Over 67 years of marriage, Hank and Clara were members at several churches, where Hank served as Deacon and Elder. They enjoyed volunteering at all of them. Hank served two tours of duty in the European Theater in WWII, which included the Battle of the Bulge. Hank and Clara loved traveling the entire North American continent, the Bahamas, Canadian provinces, Mexico and took nine combined trips to Europe. He and Clara retired to Florida after working 38 years at Eckrich. Hank's health had been deteriorating for several months and he died peacefully in his sleep. He will be greatly missed by many, he truly was one of the "Last American Heroes".
Surviving are his brother Ed Schreuder, his children Margaret and Henry, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter and all but one sibling.
