He was a native of Athens Al. but resided in Spring City TN for 34 years. He was a Navy veteran and is a retired teamster and TVA employee at the Watts Bar Nuclear plant where he worked for many years. He was a hardworking, fun loving Dad, Papaw and animal lover. He had a big heart and loved everyone. He was a man that never met a stranger and no one ever went hungry or without a place to lay their head if he was around.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Howard and Elizabeth Louise Beddingfield, and brother George Huey Beddingfield.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Carole Jean Allen Beddingfield of Spring City TN, one son and daughter in law, Michael Allen and Cathy Beddingfield of Athens, TN.; Daughter, Elizabeth Ann Beddingfield of Decatur, TN;, daughter and son in law Donna Elaine and Jeremy Jarrett of Athens TN. Two brothers Joe Beddingfield of Woodville Al. and Harold Beddingfield or Skyline Al. , a sister; Deborah Elaine Stewart of Scottsboro AL; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Stanley Heights Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Thursday April 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Joe Beddingfield and the Rev. Jason Pickel will conduct the service at 12:30 p.m. in the church.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
