Mr. Futrell, age 73, of Pollock, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. A. D. Futrell was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church where he served in many capacities including Deacon. Mr. Futrell, a graduate of McNeese State University and NLU, taught school in Grant Parish for over twenty-two years, served on the Grant Parish School Board since 1992 and served Grant Parish District #5 Fire Board for several years. Mr. Futrell served on the Pollock Federal Prison Board, and coached basketball at Mansura High School and coached soft-ball for Grant High School.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Liz Futrell of Pollock, one daughter, Karen DeBusk (Louis) of Pollock; one son, Michael Futrell (Rhonda) of Madisonville, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Blain DeBusk and Blake DeBusk of Pineville, Madison Futrell of Madisonville and Dylan Futrell of LSU in Baton Rouge and one sister, Gloria Bingham (Lawrence) of Monroe, LA.
Friends may visit on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Wayside Baptist Church.
