GOODENOUGH, Janice July 9, 1942 - September 28, 2017 Jan was born in San Francisco, California on July 9, 1942 to the late Bernard and Dorothy Allen. She was very close to her late sister, Denise Allen Thompson. Jan is survived by her loving husband, Gary Goodenough, to whom she was married for 48 years. She was raised in Berkeley, California and attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. After she and Gary married, they lived in Moraga, California for 26 years. Then they moved to Santa Rosa in 1998. Jan worked for Pacific Bell for 30 years followed by AirTouch Communications for 6 years. She worked as an Employee Benefits Manager in San Francisco for the majority of her career. After Jan retired, she volunteered at Assistance League of Sonoma County for 20 years where she served in several Board positions including President. She loved cruising and went to many countries throughout the world with her husband and friends.
In accordance with Jan's wishes, there will not be a service. Jan requested donations in her memory be made to Assistance League of Sonoma County, 5 West Sixth Street, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 so they can continue helping women and children in need in Sonoma County.
