Eva Louise was born on May 9, 1921 in Crosby County, Texas to Thomas Henry Adair and Mary Ann (Spence) Adair. She was the 9th of their ten children. She married James C. “Jake” Andrews on October 17, 1937, in Ballinger, Texas. They moved to Nacogdoches in 1981 after living in San Antonio for 29 years. They were married for almost 44 years before Jake passed away. Her hobbies included bridge, bowling, cooking, all types of needle work and painting. In her younger years, she also loved to ride horses, water ski, and travel with the Winnebago Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband, by her sons Glen Edward, Ronald and Donald, by her brothers Ray, Harold and Vernon Adair, and by her sisters Lillian Sellars, Vera Waller, Virgie Cotham, Ruby Williams, and Pauline McCarty.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Benke and husband Mike of Nacogdoches, her sister, Jeanne Sauer of San Saba, 12 grandchildren including Mike Hamilton and wife Kristin of Windsor, Colorado, Ginger Tucker and husband Wyatt of Missouri City, Mike Andrews and wife Kim of West Columbia, Mark Andrews and wife Mary of Junction, Eva Cianchetta and husband Joe of Chester, Maryland, also numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and Sue Hesketh of Eau Claire, WI who was loved like a daughter for almost 50 years.
Pallbearers will be Mike Benke, Mike Hamilton, Mike Andrews, Wyatt Tucker, Jimmy McCarty, and Johnny Benke. Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews Tom Adair, Glen Adair, Doug Rainbolt and Milton Lee Sellars.
