Joan Rose Goolsby, nee Rhind, age 85, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Born in Joliet, a Joliet resident most of her life. Joan and Grant enjoyed retirement in Lake Wildwood, before returning to the Joliet area.

She was a member of the International Order of Kings Daughters & Sons Jennie Lee Circle for over 60 years and the Putman Christian Church. She loved spending time with her family, bird watching and counted cross stitch.

Survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Granville 'Grant' Goolsby Jr.; son Granville 'Grant' P. (Terri) Goolsby, III; grandson Ryan M. (Catherine) Goolsby; great-grandchildren Isabella, Jenna, Kyliegh, Caitlin and Meghan; grandson Kirk A. (Irene) Goolsby; great grandchildren Karina and Kirk Jr.; grandson Grant N. (Amy) Goolsby; great grandchildren Lainey, Cole and Carter; son Robert G. (Ann Meyers); granddaughters Kathryn Goolsby and Carol (Dave) Michalski; great grandchild Lochlain Hyland Goolsby; daughter Peggy Ann (Joseph J.) Parthun; grandson James J. (Kerri) Parthun; great grandchild Zachary J. Parthun; grandson Daniel M. (Karissa) Parthun; great grandchild Ruth Louise Parthun; daughter Sally Ann (Jeffrey) Seeger; grandson Jeffrey Maxwell (Emily) Seeger and granddaughter Charlene Rose Marie Seeger; one sister Judith (Mike) Buell; two sisters-in-law Mary Goolsby and Thelma Rhind. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Vera (Richardson) Rhind; two brothers Darrel (Virginia) Rhind and Warren Rhind.

Arrangements entrusted to the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.

Inurnment: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018.
