Services for Jerry Wayne Cansler, 80, of Flint will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service with Bro. Bart Kirchoff officiating. Jerry passed away Tuesday. He will be laid to rest at Tyler Memorial Park under the direction of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on December 2, 1937 in Hollis, Ok to the late Earnest and Ethel Pierce Cansler. Jerry grew up on a cotton farm in Hollis until after high school. Jerry married the love of his life Jo Ann then moved to Texas as soon as they could.
He started working in his life long career in the grocery business, and retired at the age of 55. He worked for Albertsons for his last 20 years as district manager. He enjoyed fishing and boating when he was not working. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and their activities.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Cansler, one son; Perry Don Cansler and wife Teresa of Garland; daughter Sherry Ann Galbreath and husband Don of Wetumpka, Al; one sister Zella Jo Ford of Hollis, Ok, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Troy Davenport, Don Galbreath, John, Cameron and Connor Cansler and Michael Seidel. Honorary pallbearer is Eric Anderson.
