Betty June (Stark) Shotwell Scott of Indian Head, MD passed away peacefully Friday, November 17, 2017 in Great Mills, MD with her loving daughter at her side. She was born on April 21, 1926 in Fairmont, WV. Betty was the youngest of five children born to the late Lydia Bruce Stark and Etta Lenore Lowther Stark.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred E. Shotwell, second husband Lester A. Scott and daughter Brenda Lee (Shotwell) Dudley.
Betty is survived by her loving children; Sue A. Friess (Bubby) of Bushwood, MD, Sandra June Delano of Chaptico, MD; Linda Carol DeMarr of Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren; Buddy Willey (Pat); Charlie Friess, Missy Ferguson (Kevin); Gary Friess (Theresa); Steve Willey; Robin Hill (Lorne); Eric Skinner (Carolina); Ali Demar, Corey Dudley (Tammy); Christopher Dudley (Suzanne); 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great Grandson.
Betty was a homemaker and her greatest love was to spend time with her family and her fur babies. She loved to host family gatherings at the holidays.
The family would like to thank Hospice of St. Mary’s for their kindness and compassion in taking care of their mother during the last two weeks of her life.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with prayers recited at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. The Interment will immediately following in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Eric Skinner, Charlie Friess, Gary Friess, Buddy Willey, Steve Willey, and Corey Dudley. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Dudley.
