Cecelia Owens, 82, of a Roslyn pioneer family died Thursday, at her home in Roslyn. She was born Sept. 17, 1890 in Roslyn and has lived there all of her life.
She was married to James W. Owens in 1907. He preceded her in death in 1959.
Mrs. Owens was the Pioneer Queen for the Upper County Pioneer Days for 1972. She was the president of the Old Timers Picnic, due to be celebrated shortly in Roslyn. Other memberships include: Order of the Eastern Star, Roslyn Chapter 147; The Royal Neighbors and the American Legion, both of Roslyn and the Ladies Aid Society of the Roslyn Presbyterian Church.
One son and one daughter also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Florence Sibillia of Cle Elum, Mrs. Bertha Waite and Mrs. Eleanor Horton both of Seattle; one son, Dave Owens of Cle Elum; one brother, Steve Adams of North Branch, Mich., 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Roslyn Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John S. Congdon will officiate. Graveside services to follow with the Order of the Eastern Star, Roslyn.
Internment will be at the family slot in the New City Cemetery, Roslyn.
