Aug 25,1933 : Mansfield Mans Father Succumbs: Servicers for U.P. Backensto to be held Sunday
Uriah Pierce Backensto, 80,father of Omar Backensto who resides near Mansfield, died last evening at the home of his daughter Mrs Chester Moore,one mile northeast of Savannah. Survivors are 2 daughters ,Mrs. Moore and Mrs Frank Bruce, of near Ashland, 2 sons Leo of near Ashland and Omar Backensto, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the late home Sunday afternoon at 2:00 and at 2:30 at the Olivesburg church by Rev. Mervin Jenny. Burial in the Olivesburg Cemetry will be in charge of I.L.McQuate, funeral directors
