He is shown as being between 30 and 39 years old, or born between 1801 and 1810. In the 1850 US census, he is shown as 44 years old, or born about 1806. No record of his birth has yet been found, although Vermont Vital Records, 1720-1908, shows his 16 Mar 1829 marriage to Amanda (Almanda) Preice in USA, VT, Rutland, Wallingford.

Although the New York Death Index, 1852-1956, would appear to cover the year of his death, Towns and Villages were not required to report vital statistics until 1884.
