She retired from Laundry Concepts in 2006. She was Vice President of the Braidwood Seniors. She enjoyed cross-stitching, arts & crafts and attending the local library programs.
Surviving are her husband, Richard, whom she married October 30, 1965 in Chicago; her son, John (Teri) Schulz of Lockport; her daughter, Christine (James) Gawel of Worth; eight grandchildren, Brenna, Danielle, Nick, Ryan, Peyton, Ethan, Hannah, and Lauren; her mother, Joyce (nee Sutherland) Forsythe of Mackinaw; brother, Stephen (Patricia) Forsythe of Mackinaw; sister, JoAnne (Louis) Ferroli of Rockford and several nieces and nephews.
Marlene was preceded in death was her father, Gerald Forsythe.
