Eva C. (Armstrong) Carpenter, age 83 of Millville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at home on Sunday evening, April 1, 2018. She had been in declining health.

Born and raised in Millville by her grandparents, the late James and Eva Stiles, Eva was a lifelong resident.

Eva attended Millville Public Schools, and then enjoyed many years of raising her family and was a wonderful homemaker.

She evangelized with her husband, Billie Joe, for over 40 years in many churches and gospel tents all up and down the east coast.

Eva loved her flowers and truly was an avid gardener. She also enjoyed singing in churches as well as playing the piano and organ. Eva cherished her horses named Babe and Danny Boy that she had while she was growing up. But most of all, Eva treasured the time that she was able to share with her family.

Eva will be sadly missed by her husband, Rev. Billie Joe Carpenter; five daughters, Cindy Alt of Petersburg, WV, Bonnie Bradford and husband James of Buena, Debbie Heggan and husband Bill of Buena, Brenda Johnson and husband Ray of Millville, and Billie Carpenter of Millville; three step-daughters, Brenda Terry and husband Carl of Rosenhayn, Phyllis Surginer and husband David of Sinton, TX, Rebecca Heins and companion Stacey of Colonial Heights, VA; two step-sons, David Carpenter and wife Sue of Millville, and Dean Carpenter of Millville; 30 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Kathryn (Smith) Stiles; one son, William Armstrong, Jr.; three daughters, Eva Hand, Vickie Armstrong, and Glenda Armstrong; one brother, James Stiles; and one granddaughter, Michele Govan.

Funeral Services for Eva will be conducted on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville.
