John L. Bayler, age 81, of Trail Creek, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at LaPorte Hospital. John was born February 24, 1937 in Flora, IL to Frank LaRue Bayler and Beulah Olive (nee Pearce) Bayler who preceded him in death.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years: Caral (nee Craft) Bayler; sons: Mark (Anita) Bayler and Doug (Jill) Bayler; grandchildren: Rachel, Daniel, Livia, Alexa, Elyanna, and Emilia Bayler; sister: Judy (Lynn) Van Dyke, sister-in-law: Jean Kretchmar and many cousins and nephews.
John was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, usher and was an all-around great servant of Christ. John retired from IBM Corp. in 1993, where he worked as a field engineer, returned to work and permanently retired in 2002. He served as Town Board Councilman for Trail Creek and an active member of the Lions Club. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.
