Zella, the twelve-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Pierce, died Thursday of last week at the home of her parents in Indianapolis. The remains were brought to Franklin where the family resided until a few months ago…. Burial at Greenlawn. The child's death was due to tuberculosis.

Indiana State Board of Health Certificate of Death No. 1566, page 410, for Indianapolis Marion County records that Zella Marrie [sic] Robbins, white female, age 13y, 10m 29ds died at 5:30 pm on May 25, 1911, in Indianapolis of pulmonary tuberculosis.
Parents - Hayes Robbins, and Hattie K. Weddle, both born in Indiana.
Informant - G. K. Pierce [her stepfather]
Burial - Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin Johnson County.

1900 U. S. Census for Franklin Johnson County records 1 year old Zella Robins living as an inmate at the Orphan's Home.

George Pierce 35, and Hattie Pierce, 30, married 8 years, living at home with his step daughter Zella, 11, and the children of George and Hattie, Dallas H. Pierce 7, Kathalene [sic] 5, Franklin J. 3, and Ruth Pierce, 1.
