ASHEVILLE, NC- Virginia Lee Reichart, died April 10, 2018 in Asheville, North Carolina at the age of 101.

Virginia was born in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana on March 12, 1917, to Aaron J. Aubrey and Edith Gough Cowley. She grew up on the family farm on East Centennial with her parents and brothers John and Richard. After attending Selma Elementary, she graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1935.

Virginia married Samuel Lyons in 1936 and that union produced two daughters, Patricia and Melinda. Later she gained two stepchildren, Thomas and Dana with her marriage to William Reichart.

Mrs. Reichart was a partner in Fisher Givens Real Estate Company and active in the First Presbyterian Church, Muncie Symphony, Tri-Kappa and Minnetrista Cultural Center.

Survivors include her four children, Patricia Weir and Melinda Douglass (husband Richard), Thomas Reichart, and Dana Reichart Brown; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 21, 2018, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Carrie Jo Miller officiating. Private Graveside services will be held at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Selma.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Saturday April 21, 2018, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church, 1400 W. Riverside Ave, Muncie, IN 47303, or to The Village Foundation Inc. c/o Westminster Village 5801 W. Bethel Ave, Muncie IN 47304.
