Pauline Griffith Jacobs, 86, of 1150 Majolica Road, Salisbury, died Friday (Dec. 12, 2003), at the Laurels of Salisbury.

Born June 15, 1917, in Rowan County, Mrs. Jacobs was a daughter of the late William Spurgen and Ollie Mae Safrit Griffith.

She was educated in the Rowan County schools and had worked as a hostess and assistant manager for the Country Club of Salisbury. She had also been involved with Meals on Wheels.

Mrs. Jacobs was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Women.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Winecoff, Salisbury; a brother, J. G. Griffith, Kannapolis; a stepbrother, Joe Griffith, Mooresville; a sister, Mildred Gardner, Mooresville; a stepsister, Dot Phillips, Mount Ulla; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
