Wayne graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1944. He spent his working life in Lane County as a farmer, stockman and carpenter. He retired in 1996 and moved to Hutchinson. He enjoyed playing cards especially Pitch and Pinochle and hunting. Wayne was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton, the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Hutchinson and the Bishop Forrest 4th Degree Assembly of Ness City. He was also a member of the Knight of Columbus #3210 of Dighton and #612 of Hutchinson. He was a past Grand Knight in Dighton.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert Doll, two brothers, Darryl Doll and Llewelyn Doll and two sisters, Charlene Doll and Darlene Doll.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Doll, of the home; 2 sons, Gary and Roxy Doll, Hutchinson; Steve Doll, Hays; 2 daughters, Wanel and Bill Elliott, Chandler, AZ; Leah and Mark Shapland, Dighton; 7 grandchildren, Megan and Ray, Gabriel and Shirley, Manon and Russell, George, Lacey, Justin, and Seth; 4 great-grandchildren. Christian, Chandler, Aiden, and Caden.
Vigil services were held Friday, February 2, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton. Funeral Mass was held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton with Rev. Warren Stecklein officiating. Burial services were held at the Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Boomhower Funeral Home. Calling hours were from Noon to 5:30 p.m. Friday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton.
